200 HOUR TEACHER TRAINING
The Dock Studios 200hr Yoga Teacher Training takes our students on a journey of self-discovery within the framework of yoga, in all of its glorious manifestations. Students gain a deeper understanding of themselves and start to awaken a new level of consciousness and awareness. This can sometimes be challenging but the rewards are transformational and set the foundation for continued discovery.
The training is facilitated by The Dock Studios Teaching Team who will share their wealth of knowledge, practice and experience in yoga, meditation, healing and personal development. We are committed to supporting you through every step of this training to enable you to live more fully and to teach from a place that is embodied and feels authentic.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Techniques, training & practice

Learn how to confidently teach and practice Asana, Pranayama, Kriya, Chanting, Mantra and Meditation as well as modifications for injuries and posture adjustments or assists.

Teaching methodology

Explore the principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/adjusting, instruction, teaching styles, sequencing classes, the ethics and qualities of a teacher, the student's process of learning and the business of setting up as a yoga teacher. You will learn a complete sequence suitable to teach in many environments from corporate classes, privates and gyms to hot studios and of course non - hot studios too.

Anatomy, Physiology &
Bio-mechanics

Study functional, biomechanical and kinetic anatomy of applied movement to observe students in practice, and guide students in a meaningful, safe and effective way. Knowledge of basic human skeletal structure such as different types of bones, joints, muscles and connective tissues and how they function optimally in postural practices; basics of human movement to understand transitions in and out of asanas. Also, delve into the energetic concepts of the Subtle Body such as Chakras and Nadis. Learn the practical application of the different systems of the body and look at the benefits and the contraindications of postures for injuries and different students, with options for modifications.

History & Philosophy

Review the History of Yoga including looking at classical texts: The Vedas, The Upanishads (including, The Bhagavad Gita), Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (including, The 8-limb path) and The Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Learn basic Sanskrit, yoga philosophies and an introduction to Ayurveda. Learn how to integrate these teachings into intelligent yoga classes.

Learn and experience how our life force can be influenced by our breath and how it can also lead to non ordinary states of consciousness, unveiling the holdings of the subconscious mind and physical body.

Traditional Yoga Stream
For those called to the depth and lineage of traditional yoga practice, this pathway honours the roots, philosophy, and embodied intelligence of yoga in its classical and contemporary forms.
This is not just learning how to cue poses.
It is understanding why we practice, how we hold space responsibly, and how to teach with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
You will learn how to:
• Skillfully sequence intelligent, accessible classes
• Understand functional anatomy and safe alignment principles
• Integrate pranayama, meditation, and subtle body awareness
• Teach to diverse bodies and abilities with inclusivity and care
• Weave yogic philosophy into modern teaching in a grounded, relatable way
• Develop your own voice as a teacher — steady, informed, and true
This stream is both rigorous and deeply supportive. It invites personal growth alongside professional development, so that what you offer students comes from lived experience, not memorised scripts.

Aerial Yoga Stream
For those feeling called to explore yoga through suspension, strength, play, and perspective, our Aerial pathway offers a comprehensive and deeply grounded training in aerial methodology.
This is not just “learning tricks.”
It is intelligent sequencing, safe rigging principles, anatomy in the air, therapeutic applications, creative transitions, and building confidence to hold space from the hammock.
You will learn how to:
• Teach foundational and progressive aerial sequences
• Support students safely in inversions and transitions
• Understand aerial-specific anatomy and contraindications
• Create strong, creative, accessible aerial classes
• Integrate aerial philosophy with traditional yogic principles
